About me

My name is Ms. Erin Silberstein and I am thrilled to be the new Categorical Program Advisor at Lake Balboa College Preparatory Magnet. I have been in education for 16 years. I started out teaching 7th grade English and when my older daughter was born I took ten years off to raise a family. After my younger daughter started first grade I went back into teaching. I have taught both 7th grade and 8th grade English, been a College and Career Coach, an EL Coordinator and a Categorical Program Advisor. I love working with kids and I believe that we need to invest in our future generations so they are prepared for success.
I grew up in the San Fernando Valley and currently I live near where I grew up, with my two daughters. I earned my bachelor's degree in English at California State University at Northridge, where I also earned a masters degree in education administration as well as my administrative credential.
I love spending time with my family and our dogs, Luna and Love. I love going to the beach, reading, working out and eating good food.
I am looking forward to a great year!
