Adrienne Sidley

Bienvenidos a todos / Welcome everyone!

I teach high school Spanish levels 1, 2, and 3 at Lake Balboa College Preparatory Magnet K-12.  We use the textbook Senderos in class and follow the World Language Content Standards for California Public Schools.

I graduated from Loyola Marymount University for both my graduate and undergraduate degrees.  I discovered my passion for teaching through volunteering with youth in high school and college.  Fun fact: Before pursuing my career as a Spanish teacher, I actually worked in companies where I trained employees, managed the office, planned parties, and assisted the accounting department.

ME LLAMO...
I go by any of the following names: Profesora, Profe, Maestra, Ms. Sidley, Srta. Sidley, Ms. Adrienne

I have high expectations of my students because I know the students at Lake Balboa are extremely capable.

Our classroom rules are:

  • Be safe
    • Follow classroom safety rules, such as listening to adult directions, sitting in assigned seats, walking in the room, keeping aisles clear, storing away phones in phone pockets, and keeping hands, feet, and objects to yourself.
  • Be respectful
    • Students should be kind, accepting, and open-minded toward each another and other cultures.
    • Students should respect the classroom by cleaning up and being respectful to adults and peers.
    • Students are allowed to make mistakes while learning.
  • Be responsible
    • Come to class prepared with textbooks, charged laptops, paper, and writing utensils.
    • Do your best and practice as much as you can - both inside and outside the classroom.
