ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in the Philippines. My husband and I have been happily married for 35 years now and have raised four wonderful children. We all love hiking and taking nature trips. Seeing them grow into matured and responsible adults who are now all successful in their chosen careers has been the greatest gift that we both thank God for.

I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Math Education from the University of the Philippines and earned my MA Math degree from De La Salle University, both in my home country. Wanting to take my passion for teaching math to the next level, I grabbed the opportunity to teach in the Land of the Free in 2006. I started teaching at LAUSD as a foreign exchange teacher bringing with me 20 years of teaching experience from the Philippines, both in the secondary and collegiate levels. I received my single subject teaching credential in Math after taking certificate courses from the USD and UCSD.

Lake Balboa College Prep Magnet has been my home school for the last seven years. Before Lake Balboa College Prep, I have taught full-time at two other schools in the valley. Teaching at LBCPM is by far my best teaching experience ever in the US. I love teaching at our school because here, failure is never an option, a value which I uphold in both my personal and professional life. Here, we value and practice resilience and perseverance. We "never (ever) give up on a dream."
